Self-certification of origin (SC) is a popular origin certification mechanism and has been applied in many developed countries around the world in recent years. Many free trade agreements between countries around the world have stipulated regulations to apply this mechanism to import and export goods circulating in that free trade area, aiming to bring practical benefits to businesses as well as promoting trade activities between countries. However, the SC mechanism is still relatively new to Vietnam. Vietnam has only known about this mechanism in the past 10 years when ASEAN member countries began negotiating and implementing a pilot program on SC for qualified exporters within the framework of the ATIGA  Agreement...

In order to help state management agencies and businesses participating in import and export activities have complete and systematic information about the SC mechanism in the CPTPP Agreement, the Agency of Foreign - Ministry of Industry and Trade has compiled book "Introduction to the Self-Certification of Origin of Goods mechanism in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP)". This is a book compiled by experts who directly participate in negotiating the content of rules of origin of goods in the CPTPP Agreement and directly guide and draft related domestic legal documents related to this field.
