The ASEAN Media Forum (AMF) serves as a platform for ASEAN to communicate its goals, achievements and challenges; and also to facilitate discussions on pressing global and regional issues.
On November 25, in Vientiane (Laos), the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos together with the Secretariat of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) organized the 8th ASEAN Media Forum (AMF) with the participation of ASEAN officials, policymakers, representatives of media, press, and scholars of Laos and the region.
At the forum, Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Phosy Keomanivong said: AMF is an annual forum, gathering leaders of media agencies throughout the region to interact with policymakers, officials, scholars, etc. The forum aims to facilitate exchanges between media leaders and ASEAN policymakers, creating a space to share ideas, thereby enhancing understanding of ASEAN's perspectives on emerging issues.
According to Mr. Kao Kim Hourn, over the past 8 years, the AMF has facilitated exchanges between media leaders and ASEAN policymakers, creating a space to share ideas thereby helping to enhance understanding of ASEAN's perspectives on emerging issues.
AMF was initiated in 2017, is an annual forum, gathering leaders of media agencies throughout the region to interact with policymakers, officials, academics, etc. The forum serves as a meaningful platform for ASEAN to propagate its goals, achievements and challenges; at the same time, it is also to promote discussions on pressing global and regional issues.
At the event, delegates shared their views and opinions on many important issues related to the implementation of the integration work plan, as well as the results and expectations for the future of ASEAN's work./.
