On 12 June 2025, the ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2026–2030, Vision 2045 Review and Communication Program was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event aimed to disseminate the contents of the Strategic Plan, and to consult with experts and national representatives to further improve detailed implementation activities in the coming time.
The program was attended by experts and advisors who have accompanied the process of developing the Strategic Plan, along with representatives of the Strategic Plan Development Working Group of ASEAN member countries. The Vietnamese delegation attending the program included Dr. Vo Chi Thanh - former Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management, Director of the Institute for Brand and Competitiveness Strategy Research - an expert representing Vietnam who participated in advising during the process of developing the Strategic Plan, along with a representative of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, an official member of the Working Group on developing the ASEAN Strategic Plan.
The conference was successfully held, including key activities such as the opening speech by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Malaysia and Chair of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Council 2025, video speeches by the AEC Council Ministers, the official launch of the Strategic Plan, a video presentation of the plan and a presentation by the ASEAN Secretariat, thematic discussions on economic integration and promoting an inclusive economy in the future as well as a summary of congratulatory speeches from dialogue partners, businesses, civil society organizations and youth representatives.
Through the program, ASEAN countries reviewed the achievements and strategic directions after 2025, contributing to promoting the realization of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, focusing on a dynamic, inclusive, adaptive and sustainable Economic Community.
