The United Nation’s International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) – Third Revision
The United Nation’s International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) is the international reference classification of productive activities. Its main purpose is to provide a set of activity categories that can be utilized for the collection and reporting of statistics according to such activities.
When negotiating commitments on investment liberalisation under various Free Trade Agreements, Viet Nam and its trading partners have mostly used the ISIC Rev.3 as the standard classification to achieve a uniform categorization of economic activities to be subject to investment liberalisation. The table below provides detailed classification of economic activities in the five areas for which Viet Nam has committed for investment liberalisation, based on ISIC Rev.3.
