Viet Nam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has requested the UK Government’s support in developing a National Trade Repository (NTR) that will be linked to the ASEAN Trade Repository (ATR) (https://atr.asean.org) and be congruent with requirements under ATIGA. In this regard, VNTR covers the 9 mandatory topics required by ATIGA Article 13 and is linked with the ASEAN Trade Repository (ATR) system, as called for under ATIGA (Articles 12 and 13); and has a specific focus on NTMs based on ASEAN Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

This is a free-to-access online information platform that provides all the latest trade regulations and information that businesses need to export and import to and from Viet Nam. VNTR contains important information, such as preferential tariffs under free trade agreements (FTAs) which Viet Nam is a party to, Rules of Origin for each commodity under different FTAs, non-tariff measures (NTMs) applied to imported – exported goods, as well as trade and customs related laws and regulations, a search function by HS Code etc. 

The VNTR has been launched since March 2022 and will continue to be updated with latest information and data to best serve the business community, both inside and outside Viet Nam, for an improved business environment.
